OXFORD, Ohio (Larry Davis) -- In Oxford, police released new information Monday afternoon about the deaths of two people, one of whom is a Miami University student. They say Rebecca Eldemire, 21, and Larry Tipton II, 27, were found dead at the Level 27 apartments. Oxford Police say Eldemire called them Saturday night to say that her ex-boyfriend was headed to Oxford from Columbus and that she was afraid. Police intercepted him in her apartment building parking lot and escorted him to her apartment. She told police they could leave. Oxford police responded Sunday to a report of a smoke alarm going off in the third floor apartment. Once inside, they had to break down a door and inside they found Eldermire and Tipton. A gun was found by the two bodies. Miami University President David Hodge called this a terrible tragedy. "Our hearts go out to the families and friends. It is an incredibly painful and sad time for Miami." Follow Larry Davis on Twitter @larrydaviswkrc, and LIKE him on Facebook.
