Paliisa farmers protest against wetland giveaway to Korean investor

Over 5,000 farmers from Olok sub county in Pallisa district have protested a decision by district authorities and the ministry of agriculture to give away over 54,000 acres of the Apapa wetland to the Korean Rural Corporation to grow rice. 


The angry farmers say the move is an over plan to grab their land, on which they grow maize, rice, and millet used for domestic consumption and sale.
