On Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Muslims in Singapore end their month of fasting with a feast. There were more visits from friends and relatives. This cat dashed to the 3rd floor into an apartment. He could have been chased out and jumped off the window.  

This cat and two others had perched on the wall ledge of the 2nd storey apartment without falling down in the past.  

This veterinary educational video showed Day 3 after surgery pining of the femoral fractures. He had massive bruising seen on the inner side of his thigh. He is on painkillers including the Duragesic patch and antibiotics. He feels better but is still not eating.

He was on an IV drip for the day of surgery and on Day 1 and Day 2 after surgery.

This cat could have leapt off the apartment of the occupants upstairs. In any case, I advise no more perching and to put a wire screen on the windows to prevent any accidental falling.


Cats fracturing their legs after falling from the high rise apartments are relatively common in Singapore which has around 80% of its population living in high rises. This video educates all Singaporean cat owners to be aware of such incidents and their prevention.
