A5208928 Wesley is a dazzling 2-year-old gray-and-white neutered male Pit Bull who was found in Monterey Park on August 11th and brought to the Downey Animal Care Center; he was transferred to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on October 13th. Weighing 58 lbs, Wesley is a sporty boy who walks ok on leash and would be an awesome companion to take on walks or hikes. At Downey, he loved his time with the other dogs in the shelter’s playgroups; at Baldwin Park, staff have observed more dominant behavior and are recommending he start out as a solo dog while his new family gets to know him better and can make the best match if they add another dog. Of course, Wesley sailed through his shelter-administered temperament test. His tail wags a mile a minute and he has the classic Pit Bull smile--who can resist that happy face? Wesley will be a delightful indoor companion for an active family living in a private residence. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets. United Hope for Animals supports rescue, spay/neuter and networking of shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption. UHA is not a shelter, but supports shelters to help increase visibility of animals who might not otherwise be seen.
