WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - There's no longer a lawsuit against a judge who won't let three transgender teenagers change their names, but the case is far from over. The parents claim Judge Joseph Kirby violated their constitutional rights when he questioned them at length about the mental health of their children. The parents say Kirby has a history of treating transgender children differently than other minors. A federal judge dismissed the suit Tuesday. He says the best way to go about this case is to file an appeal.
