TN gas taxes don't meet state's transportation needs

Don’t expect a gas tax hike in Tennessee this year. Governor Bill Haslam says he doesn’t foresee pushing for any increase until next year. A recent report showed that current fuel taxes don’t raise enough money to maintain the state’s transportation infrastructure, or meet long-term needs. Tennessee’s gas tax hasn’t been raised since 1989.
