I often say that meditation is the practice of training the mind to achieve control, peace and other benefits. Others may define it differently and that is because meditation is a personal, internal practice, subject to interpretation and often adjusted based on the person's needs, tastes and lifestyle.

Someone asked me the other day how to meditate.

What are the specifics of meditation

There is no right or wrong way to meditate. Meditation is just a practice of clearing your mind and find inner peace.

This alone is incredibly powerful

Many teachers define it differently.

It is a personal and subjective practice. You can find your own way.

As you meditate, you will hopefully learn to breath, to calm or quite your mind and to control emotions

You can also find inspiration as you reflect on your life and goals

As part of the meditation practice, you can use visualization techniques, manifestations techniques and others. We will talk about those in details in a future blog.

A peaceful mind brings a happy state and a body that can accomplish miracles.

A peaceful mind is a strong mind that can remain focus and accomplish things, even if life doesn’t exactly (sometimes) go our way.

Almost every religion has practices similar to meditation. You can incorporate your own religious beliefs, prayers, etc. to your practice of sitting in contemplation

Suggestion: find authors and books on meditation (try my resources page)

Having a space to meditate is also key

Find a corner that is only yours

Decorate, create an altar or a “dreams” wall, make your, give it love

Get a cushion that’s also yours, no one else should sit in it

Sit first for 3 mins, breathing, doing your best to clear your mind and have it focus on one simple, still image. You may have to try this for a few days or weeks until you master it.

Then follow your teacher’s advise
