Kenya risks facing a housing glut if the proper financing mechanisms are not availed for the end buyers in the affordable housing scheme being driven by the government. Speaking to Business Insight, Head of Research and Marketing at HassConsult, Sakina Hassanali said lowering mortgage rates and provision of infrastructure in adjacent towns will lead to increased interest from developers thereby address the housing deficit and increasing rentals in Nairobi.
