Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Mastering Excel: Discover the Power of Tables for Organizing and Analyzing Data.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, where we bring you the latest tips and tricks for mastering Excel. I'm Bill Jelen and today, we're diving into one of the new features in Excel 2007 - tables. With just 21 days left until the debut of Excel 2007 on January 30th, it's the perfect time to explore the new and improved functionality in this version.

Tables are a game-changer for anyone who frequently works with data in Excel. If you're like me, you probably have countless spreadsheets with headers in the first row and data in the rows below. Well, with tables, Excel has made it easier than ever to organize and analyze this type of data. Simply select a cell and hit Ctrl+T or use the Format as Table gallery on the Home ribbon to define your table. You can choose from a variety of formatting options, including the popular green bar format, which alternates row colors for easier readability.

But the real magic of tables lies in their intelligence. As you insert new rows or columns, the formatting will automatically adjust to include them. No more struggling to get your green bar formatting to work properly after adding new data. And that's not all - tables also come with built-in auto filter dropdowns, making it a breeze to sort and filter your data. Need to see only certain customers? Just uncheck the "Select All" option and choose the ones you want to view. It's that simple.

But wait, there's more! This is just the beginning when it comes to tables in Excel 2007. In our next episode, we'll explore even more functionality that will make your data analysis and organization tasks a breeze. Thanks for tuning in to today's netcast from MrExcel.
