Microsoft Excel Tutorial - Time-Saving Excel Tip: Rearrange Columns and Rows with These Easy Shortcuts.

Welcome to another episode of MrExcel netcast! In today's video, we have a helpful tip sent in by Udo from Dresden, Germany. Udo noticed that in a previous episode, I showed how to rearrange columns using the insert cut cells method. However, he shared an even easier way to do this task.

To quickly select an entire column, simply use the shortcut control + spacebar. Then, instead of just clicking on the left edge of the column, hold down the shift key and click on the edge. This allows you to easily move the column to a new location. It's a simple trick, but it can save you a lot of time and effort.

But wait, there's more! One of my favorite tricks is to right-click and drag the column edge. When you release the mouse, a menu will appear with options to move, copy, or paste special values or formats. You can even create a hyperlink in the new location. This is a great way to quickly manipulate your data without having to use multiple steps.

And don't forget, this same method can be used for rearranging rows as well. Just use the shortcut shift + spacebar to select the entire row, and then drag and drop it to a new location.
