Matt Jackson and Jane Kennedy are working members of the Class 40 Preservation Society/Bury Diesel Group. Today is their Easter wedding day with the wedding party travelling on the East Lancashire Railway's 'Wedding Belle' Special. The locomotive that hauled the train to Rawtenstall was CFPS mainline engine 40145, and so here we see this heavyweight 2000 hp English Electric engine on its return to Bury Bolton Street still adorned with balloons and ribbons courtesy of the CFPS although after its run down the line it is amazing that most of the balloons had survived. This is a close-up view of the engine and notice the silver car on the left as this is the car that transported the bride and groom to and from the railway. The locomotive is looking like brand-new and clearly being well looked after. The date is Saturday 22nd March 2008.
