Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Introduction to Icon Sets in Excel

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this video, we're going to take a look at one of the cool new features in Excel 2007 - Icon Sets. With Icon Sets, we can easily make sense of our data and present it in a visually appealing way.

So, what exactly are Icon Sets? They are a type of conditional formatting that allows us to assign different icons to different groups of data based on their values. This not only makes our data easier to understand, but also adds a touch of creativity to our worksheets.

To use Icon Sets, simply select the data you want to format and go to Conditional Formatting. From there, choose Icon Sets and select the set that best suits your data. You can choose from a variety of sets such as Traffic Light, Consumer Reports, and Cell Phone Power Bars. In this video, we'll be using the Green Checkmark, Yellow Exclamation, and Red X set.

Once you've selected your desired set, Excel will automatically split your data into different groups and assign an icon to each group. This makes it easy to identify patterns and trends in our data. And the best part? It's all done in just a few clicks!

So, if you want to jazz up your worksheets and make your data more visually appealing, give Icon Sets a try. Thanks for watching this netcast from MrExcel. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more Excel tips and tricks. See you in the next video!
