This is a review of the Commlite tripod fluid head and it’s a really nice option if you’re on a budget. In this video, I’ll give you a close up look at this fluid head so you can see that it’s a really great value. It’s made of mostly metal so it definitely feels rock solid and it’s got pretty much all the features you’d need. The main mounting hole is 3/8” and it comes with a 1/4” inch adapter for versatility with different tripods.

It also comes with a quick release plate and you can change the size of the mounting screw with 1/4" or 3/8" depending on what you’re using this with. The tripod head also comes with an arm can be mounted on the left or right side for easy panning. And slipping a camera on or off the head is super easy. It slides on from the back and once it’s on it won’t slide off without pressing the release button. And you can balance the camera weight by sliding it forward or backwards.

For movement it has 180 degree smooth tilting so you can get great up and down shots. And for panning it goes a full 360 degrees. And in addition to using this with a DSLR, vloggers can use this with a point and shoot camera or you can also use a cell phone mount and get some smooth camera moves with an iPhone or other smartphone.

One of the things I would like on on this tripod head is a metal release button for the plate but on the Commlite head it's made of plastic. And it doesn’t have adjustment tension for panning and tilting but even without it I found the movement smooth for what I need to do. I’ve also used this on a super cheap tripod and it works ok but a slightly heavier tripod works the best because it’s more stable.

Having a fluid head tripod is essential for smooth shots and adding the Commlite head to any tripod will definitely help improve your camera moves. At $60 it’s affordable and does a great job!
