A5209960 Chesty is a stunning 1 ½-year-old black and white altered male Husky and Malamute mix who was found as a stray in Baldwin Park and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on August 14th. Weighing 58 lbs, Chesty was a volunteer favorite of the day with his striking coloring and captivating light blue eyes. He also has some pretty rust highlights in his body and tail. True to his husky nature, he has an active mind and body and needs exercise and mental stimulation every day. When he’s outside he needs a secure fence to keep him from roaming, and he needs to be an indoor dog  so he doesn’t get bored and lonely. Chesty needs work on leash and basic training, though he seems really smart and gave laser focus to his handler so he should learn quickly. Chesty  likes treats and will sit for them. Chesty is good around other big dogs and likes to initiate play with them though he’s not recommended for a home with cats. He wants lots of affection but is not overbearing. Chesty shows signs of housebreaking. This robust guy will be an eye-catching walking or hiking buddy who is happy to settle down at home at the end of an active day.
