Africa is currently grappling with persistent food shortages which have been compounded by threats from climate change. While biotechnology might be the solution to this developmental challenges resentment towards this new science is baffling. Health Principal Secretary Dr. Khadija Kasachon now blames lack of public awareness for the negative perception of biotechnology and genetically modified organisms.
