YouTubers, Mike Martins here with another Ryobi ONE+ tool review and unboxing. I'm becoming a pretty big Ryobi fan because I like the idea of having one cordless system where the batteries can be moved between different tools.

This one was a Christmas gift from my mom, and I was really happy when I opened it. It's the Ryobi ONE+ 18V lithium-ion drill/driver and circular saw combo kit, and today I'm taking everything out of the box for the first time and giving you my initial impressions.

First up is the cordless circular saw. This thing has more weight to it than I expected and feels substantial in the hands. It includes the blade, adjustable cutting setup, safety guard and the tools needed to install the blade. I've got several projects planned for later in the year, so I'll eventually put the saw through a proper real-world test and show you how it performs while actually cutting material.

Then we have the 18V drill/driver.

This is probably the tool I'm going to use the most. It feels solid, has adjustable settings and is straightforward enough that somebody getting into DIY projects could learn to use it without needing an extremely complicated setup.

One of the things I really like about the Ryobi system is the battery compatibility. I've already invested in larger Ryobi batteries for some of my other tools, so I can use those batteries with this kit as well. The smaller batteries included with the combo are still useful as backups, especially when you're halfway through a job and don't want to stop while another battery charges.

The kit also includes a charger, although I've already got the Ryobi six-port charger that I showed in another video.

People sometimes describe Ryobi as a good “starter tool” brand, but my first impression is different. Unless these tools fail or disappear on me, I can see myself keeping and using them for a long time.

I'll be doing more Ryobi reviews as I start putting these tools to work on actual projects.
