Once again its the East Lancashire Railway and here we have the CFPS flagship machine whistling away in platform 4 at Bury Bolton Street awaiting its run to Ramsbottom. The engine had just emerged from Buckley Wells shed after a rapid repaint into large logo, followed by a groundbreaking ceremony when 40145 was graced with the 'East Lancashire Railway' nameplate. Clearly, it is now looking like a movie star but it is obvious that the Class 40 Preservation Society is using a certain amount of poetic licence in the new livery as no Class 40 was ever adorned in this way. However, it has been said that if they had lasted a little longer then there is a high probability that a logo such as this would have graced a number of Class, so this is what might have been. Is this an example of poetry in motion - the CFPS seem to think so. The date is Wednesday 25th July 2007. More images can be found of a similar nature on Derek Gordon's excellent Fotopic website.
