Just before ten p.m. as forty-three-year-old Roberto Galvez arrived at his Church Hill Street house in that western town, a gunman targeted him. Residents say at least ten blasts echoed in the distance and Galvez was hit up to four times to the body. He was rushed to the San Ignacio Community Hospital and further transferred to the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan where he has since undergone two surgeries. Galvez is in a stable condition and today, when News Five spoke to his son, he said that the motive of the shooting is not known.
