Bad road designs causing road accidents in Uganda - Report

A road safety inspection report has cited poor road design is a key cause of accidents and death on roads.  

The study conducted by the World Bank, in partnership with an NGO, Safeway Right way covered the Tororo-Mbale-Soroti-Lira-Kamdini road corridor. 

The lead researcher, Dr. Godfrey Mwesige, a lecturer in Makerere University, says there are about 98 black spots in the corridor, with most of them in trading centres. 

Minister of State for Transport Aggrey Bagiire urged road users to be careful, especially as we approach the festive season.
