Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Excel in Depth 25 - PowerPivot Relationships. Welcome to another chapter of Excel In Depth. In this episode, we will be diving into the world of PowerPivot and exploring the power of relationships. PowerPivot is a fantastic add-in from Microsoft that allows us to combine and analyze data from multiple sources. In this tutorial, we will be looking at a classic mashup scenario where we want to see how sales are affected by weather conditions. We have two tables, Sales and Weather, and we want to link them together to create a relationship. This will allow us to easily analyze and visualize the data in a pivot table without any hassle. To create the relationship, we will use the date column as the common key between the two tables. Since both tables have a date column, PowerPivot automatically fills in the necessary information for us. However, we can also explicitly create the relationship by right-clicking on the date header and selecting "Create Relationship". This gives us more control over the relationship and allows us to easily manage and update it in the future. Once the relationship is established, we can create a pivot table and see the data from both tables linked together seamlessly. This is just one of the many benefits of using PowerPivot in your data analysis.
