These are the notes for E7 played on the 11th fret: E, G#, D, F#, B, E For A7 you play it in 4th position without playing the open bottom E. C#, G, B, E, A To navigate think that the 3rd is the bottom note and the root the top. This sound works great in your solo when you want to emphasise where you are and add some big band bigness. Try it around Sweet Georgia Brown to feel how powerful it sounds. Sp learn the position for E7, A7 and D7. Don't be shy with your right hand. Django Reinhardt used this kind of voicing to sound like a big band. Have fun with it and try it at the next jam!
