Here's Part-3 of my Power Octave series where you'll learn how to play the classic gypsy jazz tunes 'Minor Swing' and 'Dark Eyes' using 'Power Octaves'.

Both these tunes sound great when you play them with octaves.

The melodies are simple enough that they octaves add to the power and don't detract.

The 'Dark Eyes' octaves especially come in handy and work really well both at a slow and fast tempo.

Like always practice these really slowly at first and be sure of the fingerings before you speed them up to tempo.

Then try them out at the next jam or when you play along to a backing track.

Swing out!

It’s all about learning and absorbing these small tasty bite size ideas into your playing. Before you know it you’ve got a ton of great stuff at your fingertips!

Swing Out!
