I saw this desert cottontail on a hiking trail along the Batiquitos Lagoon Ecological Preserve.  No one else was around.  At first the rabbit was standing tall and ready to flee from me, but after three minutes it calmed down and went into a feeding posture, even scratching its face with its right hind foot.
