Today in Fight class we worked on how to tie-up or clinch our opponent to set-up knee strikes to the body, legs, and groin. We went over how to take your head off the center line, close the gap, and then use an underhook or neck (collar) tie to control the opponent with our lead hand. With the rear hand we used a variety of tie-ups such as underhook, overhook, elbow, forearm hook, and wrist to create openings to land the knee strike. Between 18:00 and 21:00 of this sparring video, you will see Teddy and myself using this same clinch work during the round to land knee strikes (as well as other strikes).
