Phillip Sear plays 'Evening peace', the first of a set of six 'characteristic pieces' from 1873 by Josef Rheinberger. Liechtenstein's greatest 19th century composer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Liechtenstein's most famous musician, Josef Rheinberger (1839-1901) studied in Munich, and though best known as a composer of organ sonatas, also wrote a fair quantity of piano music (probably as much piano as organ music!). I guess that this piece is stylistically similar to Brahms' piano works of the period. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 ) TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@pianogems
