Road tests are an important part of both the diagnostic process & conformation of repair. But what do you do when the car or motorcycle is not road legal? Trade Plates are the answer & as I prepare a number of imported motorcycles each year for Certification having a trade plate allows the vehicle to be road tested & ridden to the compliance center rather than have to use a trailer or pickup truck. After a number of unsuccessful applications made to Land Transport New Zealand (these plates are not easy to obtain!), finally the Andy Mechanic YouTube channel is accepted as an official vehicle repairer - no more illegal road tests for me :-) So, I thought since this was such a saga I'd share the great news with you...
