CINCINNATI (WKRC) - How about a hug? As it turns out, a hug may be the healthiest holiday gift you can give, according to a recent study in PLOS ONE. Researchers found receiving a hug really can take the sting out of a bad day. Those who got one each day said they had fewer bad emotions, even on days with conflict. It didn't matter whether that hug was from a romantic partner, a friend or a family member. This study looked at 400 adults. They found people who got just one hug a day -- even if a person had an argument -- that person still experienced either fewer negative or more positive emotions than they did on a day with conflict where they had no hug.
