This is a video response to a question about a Crispin apple tree which produced lots of flowers but very few fruits. This variety is a triploid, which is to say it has an extra set of chromosomes and therefore does not pollinate other aples and needs 2 fertile pollen donor apple trees planted close by. If you can't plant 2 pollinator trees close by, graft some wood in.

Other triploids are Bramley, Suntan and Ribston Pippin-all very good apples as long as you make appropriate allowances for pollination
