Microsoft Excel Tutorial - Master Excel Formulas: 3 Ways to Enter Them - Mouse vs Arrow Keys. Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this chapter, we're diving into the world of formulas and discussing the three different ways to enter them. As I travel around the country doing seminars, I've noticed that about 10% of people simply type out their formulas, while the majority use the mouse or arrow keys. Which method do you prefer? For those who use the mouse, here's a cool tip for you. By customizing your Quick Access toolbar, you can add the plus, minus, multiply, and divide icons for easy access. This eliminates the need to constantly switch back and forth between the keyboard and mouse, making formula entry even faster. And who doesn't want to be a pro at entering formulas? But for those who have been around since the days of Lotus 1-2-3, using the arrow keys may be the preferred method. And I have to say, if there was an Excel Olympics, I would want people on my team who use the arrow key method. It's the fastest way to enter formulas and can save you a lot of time in the long run. So, whether you're a mouse person or an arrow key person, it's important to know all the different ways to enter formulas in Excel. And with these tips, you'll be well on your way to becoming an Excel formula pro. Thanks for tuning in to this episode of the MrExcel netcast.
