The last Ranger was discontinued in 2011, but after the Chevy Colorado had such a successful rebirth in 2015, Ford’s decided it wants to rejoin the party, too. So, the Ranger is finally back, and thanks to the huge nameplate stamped on the tailgate, everyone knows it. Four doors are the only option, although we’ll get to pick between SuperCab and the larger SuperCrew configurations. A 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder slots under the hood, where it pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. You’ll be able to get a Ranger with either 2- or 4-wheel drive, and off-roaders can enjoy an FX4 package featuring skid plates, upgraded tires, shocks, and suspension, and an electronic locking differential. Inside, Ford offers an 8-inch touchscreen with Sync 3, featuring not just Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but also integration with Amazon’s Alexa. It may have taken a little longer to get here than the Colorado, but Ford’s betting big on the 2019 Ranger’s success. Read more on CarGurus: https://cargur.us/mRDWX
