Counting down my favourite recording artists of all time! Juice Newton's cross over country pop records were a huge part of my young adulthood. I reconnected with her music in 2000 and her entire collection is emblematic of a lifelong affection not only for her distinct tones but also the sounds of country music. This selection is the title track from her 1984 set. 'Can't Wait All Night' was more pop/rock than country. I have always loved the catchy chorus hooks of much of her work, and the soaring ballads as well as the cover versions that defined her biggest chart success: 'Angel of the Morning' and 'Queen of Hearts'. Just hearing the voice of Juice Newton transports me back in time; and where pop music rescued me and gave me infinite joy.
