Tea farmers will pay more for fertilizer this year due to the rising freight cost and higher global oil prices. Tea fertilizer procured by the Kenya Tea Development Agency cost on an average of 1,780 shillings per 50 kilo bag higher than the 1,700 shillings that farmers paid for the commodity last year. KTDA has however ruled out revenue shortfall on the account of improved production due to favorable weather this year.
