SMEs encouraged to take advantage of presumptive tax

Small medium Enterprises whose annual turnover does not exceed 5 million are encouraged to take advantage of presumptive tax slated to take effect as from the 1st of January. In the new taxation system, small traders will be required to pay 15 percent of the trading business permit they look to get from county governments. For instance, a 5000-shillings business permit will attract 750 shillings which is remitted on annual basis.
