President Muhammadu Buhari has declared a state of emergency on Nigeria's water, sanitation and hygiene sector (WASH), as access to clean water in the country has been on the decline, dropping from 32 percent in 1990 to 7 percent in 2015. Access to toilet is also a challenge in Nigeria where over 40 million people practice open defecation. On this episode, we take a look at some of the factors responsible for this statistics and also look at ways to address them.
