New local non-profit aims to help children in remote South American city

OAKLEY, Ohio (WKRC) - A new non-profit organization based in Cincinnati is hoping to help children in a remote city in South America.

"Helping Angels of Peru" held its first fundraiser this afternoon at the 20th Century Theater in Oakley.

The goal: to provide clothing medical supplies and school supplies for children and their families who are living in extreme poverty in a rural city in northern Peru.

The fundraiser included traditional Peruvian food and live music.
