Today I was out filming a very rare event when Deltic 55022 'Royal Scots Grey became the first ever Deltic to venture into West Wales. It was deputising for D1015 Western Champion on The Western Wales Explorer 06.50 Crewe-Robeston-Fishguard Harbour-and return. Due to operational changes the train was brought into the Knuckle Yard at Margam, where the Deltic was placed at the rear of the train for the journey West to the Robeston Branch, and DBS Class 66 66015 put at the front. 1. We see the Deltic and it's train arriving at Margam Knuckle Yard. 2. The Deltic is detached and runs round its train 3. With 66015 in charge the train travels along the Burry Estuary at Pwll 4. With the Deltic back in charge the train comes off the Robeston Branch into Clarbeston Road 5 The Deltic is at the rear as the train continues Westward to Fishguard Harbour. 6. Final shot of the return service with the Deltic in charge speeding through Ferryside. I would also like to thank Kiele (KBRAILVIDEOS) for his updates throughout the day.....Bob
