A Signal Mountain native is on American Idol this season. 19-year-old Melanie Porras was featured on Wednesday night's show and made the cut. Porras moved from Signal Mountain to Kennesaw, Georgia in 2008. Judge Jennifer Lopez told Porras that she could see her recording records one day.
