After long delay, Rising Star Ferry conducts trial period

RISING SUN, Ind. (WKRC) - The Rising Star Casino Resort's ferry service commenced a trial period on Saturday as the ferry looks to return to full service.

The rides will be free during this trial period, which takes place between 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, and boarding will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Depending on the results of the trial run, the official launch date will be announced afterwards. 

The ferry was christened in July but has been waiting for the test run since then. 

When the ferry is up and running on its normal schedule, the fee will be $5.00 one way and $8.00 round-trip.
