Chattanooga police arrested 21 children on the riverfront during the first two Saturdays this month.

Police say the kids were walking in the street, blocking traffic and jumping on parked cars.

But records show some were arrested for not using a crosswalk, and for not leaving when told.

Authorities say one teen tried to dump a loaded gun and run from police.

A 27-year-old man is charged with attempted murder after a party turned violent Saturday.

Police say Robert Murphy struck 24-year-old Charles Moore in the head with a pipe.

Then, when Moore regained consciousness, Murphy allegedly took a gun and fired several rounds at him.

The investigation is ongoing.

An East Tennessee couple have been charged after splinters were found in a toddler’s stomach.

The Johnson City couple told doctors their 2-year-old son had been eating his crib.

Now Joseph A. White and Heather Coomer-White are charged with child abuse and neglect.

A new cafe and entertainment venue is opening on Main Street.

Granfalloon will be open from 7 a.m. to midnight. The cafe will serve dishes from all over the world, and will be open to live music and comedy performances.

A former dental office near the Walnut Street Bridge has been demolished.

Vision Hospitality has taken down the 3-story building to put up a new boutique hotel.

Construction on the 90-room hotel is expected to begin in August.

The company is looking to fill 500 full-time positions.

A woman was struck and killed while walking in Cleveland Saturday.

Police say the woman was walking on APD 40 when she was hit by a vehicle.

She later died at SkyRidge Medical Center. The incident remains under investigation.

A Chattanooga firefighter is injured after a ceiling fell on him.

It happened during a house fire Sunday morning.

Authorities say he was treated at Erlanger and will spend a few days recovering at home.

Police say a woman stole $10,000 dollars worth of jewelry from public housing residents in LaFayette.

Authorities say 46-year-old Lori Michelle Baker sneaked into five women’s apartments and stole wedding rings, earrings and lockets.

Baker was an employee of the LaFayette Housing Authority and had a master key.

She’s been released from jail on bond.

A 1-year-old boy was hit by a car in Chattanooga Sunday.

It happened on the Westside. Police say the driver got out to help but left after an argument with the child’s parents.

The child was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The restaurant started in St. Elmo, but is now on Main Street.

Mojo Burrito is moving into its former spot.

The new Slick’s is built from the ground up and features a new menu.

Finally, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office plans to conduct sobriety checkpoints across the county this Friday.

The checkpoints will be held between 6 and 11 p.m.
