The speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has blocked Members of Parliament from debating the fire that gutted St Bernard SS Mannya in Rakai district. The speaker argued that such a debate could jeopardize ongoing investigations by the police into the fire incident. This was after State Minister for Higher Education Dr Chrysostom Muyingo read a statement on the state of investigations and also announced a pledge by the government to give financial assistance to the families who lost children and those who sustained injuries in the fire. The Speaker's ruling did not please some members who demanded for the reports on investigations into school fires since 2008. #NTVNews Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/ntvuganda Like our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/NTVUganda
