This is the Otis Series-1 Death Trap Hydraulic Elevator, in the Gateway Medical Center, Newton, Massachusetts. While heading elsewhere, I decided to stop here, see what they had. This elevator is not in the greatest shape. The maintenance is what you'd expect for an older Series-1, but there's some major mechanical issue. While it rides okay heading up, the cab shakes violently left-to-right heading down, from 1 to Lower Level. That's what all that banging noise is, from the rocking. Nowhere near as bad as the Putnam Street Garage in Fitchburg (MA).
