Chattanooga police are searching a creek for two missing children.

The 11-year-old boys went swimming in South Chickamauga Creek Sunday and didn't come out.

Police say they're hoping Kentory Ray and Thomas Ruffin got out somewhere along the bank, and they'll find them on land.

The boys went to the creek with two other friends, but a strong current carried them away and their friends ran to call 911.

Several search crews are still working to find the boys. Stay with the Times Free Press throughout the day for more information.

A developer wants to build one of the biggest housing and retail developments ever proposed for Chattanooga's riverfront.
A Nashville company says the $40 million dollar project would put about 70 cottage homes and 200 apartments on a site behind BlueCross BlueShield.
If the site can change from manufacturing to residential land, the project would start early next year.

Also, a vacant lot on Chattanooga's Southside is finally being developed.

Developer John Wise is planning a mixed-use apartment and retail building at the corner of Main and Market Streets.

The new 4-story, $7 million dollar complex will include 60 apartments and should be finished next year.

More details are emerging about the quadruple killing that left several teens dead in a car on Renegade Mountain.

Officials say they now believe Jacob Allen Bennett and his girlfriend, Brittany Moser, tried to rob two of the victims during a marijuana exchange.

Bennett was arrested September 13, the day after the killings, and Mosher was arrested on Friday. Both of the suspects were found in Rhea County.

Officials say Bennett surprised everyone during his first court appearance Friday by saying he was guilty on all counts.

An inmate convicted of the rape and murder of a Cleveland woman has had his death sentence commuted.

32-year-old Frances Rose Crabtree was attacked while working at a Salvation Army Thrift Store in 1988.
John Patrick Henretta was awaiting death in the case, but due to his poor health, a judge has ruled that his death is imminent anyway.

Two women have been charged with prostitution in East Ridge.

Police say Son An Chin was charged with impersonation of a licensed professional, and Sun Duty was charged with promoting prostitution.

The women are scheduled to appear in court November 5th.

Two massage parlors were also shut down in Murfreesboro over the weekend.

Police say it was the first time businesses have been closed there after prostitution charges.

A 45-year-old man has been charged with paying someone to kill his wife's boyfriend.

In a Walmart parking lot on Signal Mountain Road, police say Greggory Hill paid an undercover agent $100 dollars as a downpayment to kill the man.

Now he could face up to 30 years in prison.

A 13-year-old girl died in Bradley County over the weekend.

Police say Ciara Alexis Pagan died in a car crash Friday night after the Mustang she was in hit a utility pole.

Police say four people were in the vehicle. The driver and a 14 year old girl were both taken to the hospital, and a 13-year-old declined treatment.

Also, three people are in serious condition after a pickup truck and a car collided in Bradley County Sunday morning.

The causes of both accidents are still under investigation.

Tennessee is denying name changes to same-sex couples.

Gay couples married in other states who want to have their names changed on driver's licenses are being turned away.

Now attorneys are recruiting potential couples for a lawsuit to challenge the state's ban.

Finally, more children have already been killed (CORRECTION: struck) from shootings in Chattanooga this year, than in the past six years.

So far this year, 18 children have been shot in the city, and two of them have died.

In the past six years, all of the victims have been black and almost all are males.

Mayor Andy Berke plans to introduce two programs to target the city's most violent criminals and drug dealers, but those programs won't begin until 2014.
