Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Excel Zooming: Ctrl + Scroll Wheel, Zoom Slider, and More | MrExcel Podcast. Welcome back to the MrExcel podcast. In this episode, we're diving into chapter 10 of our Rev Up To Excel 2010 series, all about Zoom. I'm your host, Bill Jelen, and today we're going to explore all the different ways you can zoom in and out in Excel. If you have a mouse with a wheel, here's a great trick for you. Hold down the Ctrl key and scroll the wheel up to zoom in, and down to zoom out. This works in all Office programs and is a much more efficient way to zoom than using the traditional methods. But let's focus on Excel 2010 and the Zoom slider at the bottom of the screen. There are several controls here, including the plus and minus buttons which zoom in and out in 10% increments. But what if you want to zoom to a specific percentage, like 93%? That's where the zoom slider comes in. You can click and drag it to the exact percentage you want, or you can click on the number and type it in manually. This will bring up the familiar Excel 2003 Zoom dialog box, where you can enter a specific percentage or choose to fit the selection. So, as you can see, there are plenty of options when it comes to zooming in Excel. But my personal favorite is still the Ctrl + scroll wheel method. It allows you to zoom in and out to exactly what you're looking for, in 15% increments. So don't forget to give it a try next time you need to zoom in on a specific cell or range. Thanks for tuning in to this episode of the MrExcel podcast. Be sure to join us next time for more Excel tips and tricks. See you then!
