A bag contains 15 white and some black balls. The probability of drawing a black ball from the bag is thrice that of drawing a white ball. Find the number of black balls in the bag

Solution Let the number of black balls is x
Total number of balls= 15+x
Probability of black balls P(B)=x/15+x
Probability of black balls P(W)=15/15+x
As per the conditions given
P(B)=3P(W)
x/15+x = 3*15/15+x
x=45
