After a long season of sitting out ion the elements, the bicycle is unchained, and is prepared for a new season of riding. This time, however, it got a major cleaning, and totally regreased, as last year's performance was very poor, with grinding, and chain skipping, and a fairly new bike.
I had to clean it differently, as I had no access to a hose, and readilly supply of water, so I used Enviromentally-Friendly Bathroom Cleaner (tough on grease), and Enviromentally-Friendly grease on everything.
After it was all done, the discovery of the front axle prevents me from riding it, after someone took it off, stripped it of parts, during the Winter Season, or got knocked around a bit with people's shovels and machienery placed near it, and simply fell off over time (that has happened before with the front wheel off). Since the important components are completely gone, a new one is needed. Other than that, it went fairly smoothly. (Surprisingly, since I'm a mechanical dunce.)
