This is the 2'nd elevator in the Bradley Building (Worcester, MA), and this Otis Chain-Roped Elevator, does work. At first, I noticed the birdcage, and thought were were in for something special, until the door opens, and reveals....an enclosed cab. It appears to be a birdcage at one time, and replaced early on (1920's or so, perhaps?). It didn't come out too well on-video, but you can hear the chains as the lift moves. After our round trip, we (sort-of) watch it go through the caged shaft, and see the chains, and regular cables for the electricals. The chains definitely scream "REDEMPTION!". Disappointed at first, until the chain discovery.
