Police: Man offering Florence girls ride was just a rideshare mix-up

FLORENCE, Ky. (WKRC) - Florence Police now say there's nothing to worry about after a man asked two school girls if they were waiting for a ride Monday.

The girls told their parents after they were approached Monday morning while waiting for the school bus on Honeysuckle Terrace.

On Tuesday, that driver contacted Florence Police. It turns out he works for a rideshare company and was called to pick up a person one street over.

His company confirms the map was off and he was looking for a legitimate customer.
