loudlabs.com LEIMERT PARK - 1/25/18 Residents in Leimert Park are still not allowed back home as a shooting suspect barricaded himself. This after a man reportedly shot someone. While police were helping the victim, they were also shot at too. Officers were not hit but the suspect is believed to have barricaded himself inside a home along the 4000 block of South 3rd Avenue. Residents we spoke to were frustrated, having to sit in their cars for hours. Paula Hernandez says she lives on the block where the shooting happened. Hernandez says she’s been waiting for more then four hours to get home. Hernandez also says she has a 17 year old sister home alone and is worried for her, though she has been in communication with her. Dan Jones also lives along 3rd Avenue and says he believes he knows the suspect. Jones describe the suspect as a man on a wheel chair who some consider, "crazy." Police have not made any contact with the suspect for at least two hours.
