Charges have been dropped against a teenager accused of killing his grandmother in Dalton, Georgia.

It's been three years since Joshua Johnson was arrested in the case, but now prosecutors say they just aren't sure if his grandmother was murdered.

Lorraine Frazier was found dead in her bathroom with a cord wrapped around her neck.

And classmates told authorities Johnson had mentioned killing his grandmother before she died.

Plus, authorities initially believed it was impossible for a person to strangle themselves - that they would pass out, instead.

But family indicated Frazier had also attempted suicide in the past, and because of the way the phone cord was found around her neck, authorities said they can't prove the incident was a homicide.
