The national assembly has deferred the vote on the two thirds gender bill to allow for more consultations on the constitutional amendment. In shelving the bill, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi directed the House Business Committee to meet on Tuesday and decide when the bill will be brought back to the house. Leader of Majority Aden Duale had sought the deferment arguing that the there was not enough quorum for the House to proceed with the much awaited vote.
